Domestic cooking gas, also known as LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) has been hiked by Rs. 3.46 per cylinder. The LPG price hike is due to the increase in dealer commissions by govt. by over 9%. Current commission paid to dealers is Rs. 40.71.
LPG in Delhi costs Rs410.50 per 14.2-kg cylinder and after the increase it would cost Rs 413.96. Dealers’ commission on 5-kg LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs1.73 to Rs20.36 per bottle. A 5-kg LPG cylinder costs Rs353 in Delhi currently.
The revision in dealer’s commission was on account of increased expenses such as salary and wages. Non-subsidized LPG is sold at market price of Rs. 1017.50 per cylinder in Delhi. Common man, who is already bothered with the high prices, is again at the receiving end with the LPG price hike.
