Government declares hike in DA from 90% to 100%

Government has announced a hike in DA or dearness allowance of central government employees from existing 90% to 100%. This is the second 10% hike within one year.

The move will benefit a total of 80 lakh employees, which includes 30 lakh pensioners. The latest hike will be applicable from 1st January 2014. Government has said that the DA hike is on account of higher inflation.
