    Maximum Deduction Under Section 80D - 35,000 or 40,000?

    What is the exemption limit for medical insurance(U/S 80D) taken by a person for self & family members(other than parents),when the person himself is a senior citizen?

    Exemption allowed for a Senior Citizen(Self and Family) is Rs. 20,000. Additional Rs. 20,000 is allowed for Parents of Senior Citizens.
