My father died a week ago and i am the only son.He did not make any will. In all investments of his he applied jointly with My Mother. Now if i transfer that money through my mother into my account. Will i be be liable to pay tax.

My mother would transfer money to me in the savings account in which i am second holder and my wife is first holder.Will she be the liable for tax.
