He can be an actor, sports star, business tycoon, politician, etc. Lives of celebrities are always interesting to us. We want to know how they behave off-screen. Where do they go? Whom do they meet? What do they do with their money? Here are some interesting trivia of some of the well known celebrities in India.

  • Celebrities have priority banking services for their banking needs. They generally have dedicated wealth and portfolio managers.
  • They take time in learning the skill of money management and do not follow the herd when it comes to investment decisions.
  • They have an aggressive investment style and invest with a long term horizon. They understand that taking higher risk is essential for generating higher returns.
  • Amitabh Bachchan generally charges about Rs.2-3 Crores for any endorsement deal. However when he was approached to be a Brand Ambassador for JustDial, he was so excited by their business idea, he took his payment in stock options.   • SRK, Juhi Chawla, Shilpa Shetty and Preity Zinta have stakes in various IPL Cricket Teams and have made substantial return on their initial investment. M.S. Dhoni is also known to own a motorcycle racing team.
  • Famous actress Shilpa Shetty owns a night club whereas our cricket stars Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan own chain of restaurants.

  • Nita Ambani, wife of Mukesh Ambani, is a co-owner of an IPL team and founder of an international school. She is actively involved in social initiatives by RIL. Ness Wadia of Bombay Dyeing group has a commerce college.
  • Vijay Mallya of UB group has an IPL team and also sponsors a racing team. He is also involved in various charities. He is however most famous for his parties.
  • Biotech queen Kiran Mazumdar Shaw invests in art. She has pledged to give away 75% of her wealth towards cancer care. Sobha developers’ chairman P.N.C. Menon has decided to donate half of his wealth towards philanthropy.
  • Popular face of entertainment Ronnie Screwvala is a co-founder of UTV group and has a private equity fund named Unilazer Venture. Through his non-profit organization Swades foundation, he intends to improve health, sanitation, water and education in rural India.
  • Most celebrities are where they are because of their enterprising nature. The same shows in their income and spending. They do not depend on income from a single source and create multiple sources.
  • Their investments similarly are also enterprising and they don’t shy away from making the slightly investment. They believe in ‘Don’t put all your eggs in one basket’ theory and try to diversify their portfolio.
